Lorie Line

Critics say Lorie Line is "one of the most innovative arrangers and pianists in the business today." "Her attention to detail lifts her show into the realm of spectacular, amazing, the kind of experience that few have ever had." "The combination of her musical and elegant performance style reinforces that she is one of the most dynamic forces in the music industry today."

This year Lorie was awarded Entrepreneur Of The Year (Minnesota and Dakotas) for Ernst & Young's Communications & Entertainment division. Her CD sales just topped 5 million. She has released 21 albums, 15 complete music books and has produced two live public television shows for PBS in the past 14 years. She's not only an entertainer, but also a mother, business woman and entrepreneur who day to day, from the ground level up, has built and runs the nation's largest woman-owned independent record label in the country.

Lorie performs to over one hundred thousand people a year, selling out 75 concerts on the stage with her Pop Chamber Orchestra coast to coast. Classically trained since the age of 5, Lorie is responsible for writing the orchestrations and arrangements for each music chart for her world-class orchestra. In addition, she is the Executive Producer, Set Designer and Creative Director for her holiday show, which has become a family institution in many parts of the country. She is not only many people's favorite female pianist, but a favorite entertainer who has taken over the stage "with lavish costumes, an infectious spirit, warmth and sincerity."

Lorie Line is a self-taught Executive Producer who is known for putting her personal stamp on everything, from color themes to graphic design, to the one-of-a-kind ballroom gowns and costumes, to every note written on each score. She even travels with her own custom-made concert grand piano and crystal chandelier from home.

She and her husband, Tim, manage the design and construction of an elaborate traveling stage set, 50 costumes, 200 lights, 60 microphones, and all the choreography and music for 14 musicians in her world-class orchestra. Lorie Line has redefined the image of a typical piano concert. When she walks onto the stage, her audience, especially if they're new, instantly realizes it's not going to be an ordinary night attending a "piano recital."

Her life's work has been to connect with fans through her music. She was the first person in her family to receive a college degree, graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno with a B.A. in Piano Performance. In 1986, Line moved from Reno, Nevada to the Twin Cities with her husband who had a job transfer. In 1988, her career kicked off while playing "Lorie Line style" for shoppers in a department store who urged her to record an album. And the rest is history.

Lorie's passion is entertaining, both on and off the stage. Her home has been featured on the cover of Better Homes & Gardens "Beautiful New Homes" and "Frontgate" catalog. Her gardens have been captured on "Rebecca's Gardens" national television show and her kitchen has been showcased on "Ultimate Kitchens" for The Food Network.

She is one of the hardest working woman you'll ever meet. Her one-of-a-kind success story of being a mother, wife, businesswoman, CEO, entertainer and composer has been featured on the cover of Twin Cities Business Monthly magazine, CNN, Paul Harvey's ABC News, Noah Adams' All Things Considered, and also in The Wall Street Journal, The Robb Report, Nation's Business, Inc. magazine and hundreds of daily newspapers including the Associated Press.

Lorie has also been the recipient of Toastmasters district "Communication and Leadership Award" and honored with the "2001 Outstanding Marketing Executive of the Year" award by DECA, a student marketing association. She has been featured on one million cans of sparkling water distributed by Pepsi-Cola, and last winter General Mills featured her on nine million boxes of Chex cereal, of which three million contained a free collector Lorie Line holiday CD.

Her famous bow dress (designer Jack Edwards) worn on stage during the 1997 holiday tour was recently inducted into the Minnesota Historical Society and is being showcased at the Minnesota History Center's major exhibit, "Sounds Good To Me: Music in Minnesota."

Lorie has helped to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for charities benefiting children, specifically Children's Cancer Research Fund, The Jade Foundation with Minnesota's First Lady Terry Ventura, Children's Hospital of Minneapolis and The Anne Carlsen Center for Children in Jamestown, North Dakota.

She has been a keynote speaker for numerous events and has motivated and served as a role model for many students, women, business organizations and aspiring young musicians. She has performed at the Crystal Cathedral and The White House.

Lorie resides with her husband and business partner Tim, and their 13-year old daughter and 8-year old son in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Lorie's music is available wherever music is sold.
